A Break From The Norm

July 12, 2008

Lately, I haven’t been doing anything. That was not the case today. I went to the eye doctor around 2pm to get a new prescription. Things have been pretty blurry from a distance and I really need the new glasses. I apparently had not been to an optometrist since 2005 but nothing had changed. Still got the puff of air in my eye and I still had to wait forever for them to actually do anything. After that, I left with a new prescription (but no new glasses) and headed over to the comic book shop and bought the newest issues.

The best part of the day though was what I did after all that. Hellboy 2 is a great movie. It’s funny and cool at the same time. Between Red and Abe getting drunk, the troll market, Johan’s creative use of gym lockers, and some kick-ass fight scenes, It was well worth the price of admission. I was kinda surprised by the ending though. I won’t give it away but the last little bit after the final fight sequence was a surprise.

We went to a Chinese restaurant for dinner. I don’t much like Chinese food. For starters, everything is the same: meat with vegetable stir-fried. The restaurants are always so tacky inside. There is nothing with cheese. Cheese is delicious so I don’t know why it was never incorporated into the cuisine. It wasn’t a bad meal but there were alot of other things I would have rather had. Oh well, at least the service was good.
