Over 1000!

July 18, 2008

Hooray! I’ve broken past triple digits. At the time of posting, it was at 1,011. Thanks everyone. I had some other stuff I wanted to talk about but I don’t remember what it was. Instead, I’ll write about a particularly vivid dream I had recently.

The whole idea behind this dream was that I was hunting “cyborg” squirrels. They seemed to be mostly normal but they had legs and heads that looked like plastic bits of an old erector set I once had. I remember being surprised they could run and climb so well with smooth plastic feet. I thought that they were evil little bastards who were planning to take over the world so I was running around this old world kinda city chasing them with a posse. It eventually led to some sort of giant inflatable castle. It was kinda like a moon-bounce on crack. We chased these robot squirrels everywhere and could never catch them. I think I was just happy to keep them busy. I remember at one point I was being driven back home in a station wagon by my mother and I saw a couple of them along the side of the road looking smug.

I didn’t do drugs or drink that night. I don’t know where it came from. It was actually pretty unusual for my dreams because I was able to remember so much of it when I woke up. I probably had it around a week ago and it still seems so vivid. It’s wasn’t my favorite dream but it was far from my worst.

I used to have a reoccurring dream every Christmas Eve. I would be running around an obstacle course in my backyard with toys like GI Joe and the Ninja Turtles. I think that one was mostly caused by my childhood anticipation of Christmas and Toys’r'us commercials. I also used to have that falling dream alot but not for a long time. The best dreams through were ones where I was sleeping. I know that sounds kinda strange but somehow it made the night seem longer and more restful. When ever I try to lucid dream I go for that or sex. It’s usually a toss-up.
